Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what cookies Cleenie uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We keep our use of cookies minimal — we do not use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. We do use a first-party product analytics cookie (PostHog) to understand how the platform is used so we can improve it.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as keeping you logged in between page loads.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Set by | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
session |
Essential | Cleenie | Session | Keeps you logged in as you navigate between pages. Without this cookie the application cannot function. |
cf_clearance / Turnstile cookies |
Essential | Cloudflare | Up to 1 year | Set on the registration page only. Cloudflare Turnstile uses these to verify you are a real person and protect against automated bot sign-ups. No personal data is sent to Cloudflare beyond your IP address. |
| Stripe cookies | Functional | Stripe | Up to 1 year | Set on billing and payment pages only. Stripe uses these for fraud detection and to remember your payment session. See Stripe's cookie policy. |
ph_* (PostHog) |
Analytics | Cleenie (first-party) | Up to 1 year | Used for product analytics — tracking which features are used and how the platform is navigated. Data is processed by PostHog on EU infrastructure. No personal data is shared with advertisers. See PostHog's privacy policy. |
Third-party services we load
Some pages load resources from third-party CDNs. These do not set cookies but do result in your browser making a connection to their servers (which may log your IP address):
- Google Fonts — Used on the login and registration pages to load the Poppins typeface. Google Privacy Policy.
- jsDelivr CDN — Serves Bootstrap (our styling framework). jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
- unpkg CDN — Serves Feather Icons (our icon set). unpkg Privacy Policy.
- PostHog — product analytics. Our PostHog snippet loads its SDK from PostHog’s EU CDN (
eu-assets.i.posthog.com). PostHog Privacy Policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or behavioural tracking technology. PostHog is used solely for product analytics (understanding how Cleenie is used) and does not build advertising profiles.
Essential cookies and your consent
The session cookie is strictly necessary for Cleenie to function — without it you cannot stay logged in. Under UK GDPR and PECR, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent. We do not ask for consent to set the session cookie.
Cloudflare Turnstile and Stripe cookies are functional and security-related. By using Cleenie you accept that these are set when you use the relevant parts of the service (registration and billing pages respectively).
How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling the session cookie will prevent you from logging in to Cleenie. Guidance for common browsers:
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change the cookies we use. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
